The plan overview has a lot of flexibility. It allows you to use any plan element (cluster, measure and actions) on any given levels and we added additional features to support a smooth plan management.
The building blocks
The three building blocks, or elements, remain the same as our previous plan overview. They keep the same functionalities as before.
Cluster: an element used to group/categorise parts in your plan. Like for example; housing, soft mobility, ... There is no quantification/objective setting/content behind a cluster, nor can it be published on the public page.
Measure: a quantified element with carbon, financial and energy savings calculated based on concrete objectives.
Action: an element that is used for concrete projects, that are not quantifiable. These refer often to projects to inform/sensibilise different stakeholders or complex projects that indirectly contribute to carbon reduction.
Adding levels in your climate plan
For any element in your plan, you can always add more levels underneath it. A plus-sign on the right side of every element in your climate plan shows three options: add a cluster, a measure or an action.
For the measure and action element, you have three more options.
Create new: define the measure or action yourself. This will give you a blank template that you can build from scratch.
From template: use an existing element from our library of pre-calculated measures or inspirational actions. This can serve as a good basis and can be further personalised at a later stage.
By reuse: relink measures and actions you have already added elsewhere in your plan. This can be done across different plans as well as within the same plan.
⚠️ Tip: Be mindful of the potential complexity when reusing many elements across or within plans, start small and reach out to your Futureproofed coach for support if needed.
Watch out for double counting
You can add a measure underneath a measure. However, as mitigation measures contribute to carbon reduction and financial analysis, you need to be cautious to not double count the impact of measures. When this situation occurs anywhere in your climate plan, you will see a notification:
"You've got at least one measure under another measure. Both measures will be accounted for carbon and financial analysis."
💡If you want to avoid double counting, put the carbon and financial impact on zero for the level you don't want to count.
Take some time to think how complex you want to make your plan, it still needs to be manageable. Contact your Futureproofed coach for support if you need some help.
Quick side panel directly in your plan overview
Sometimes you just want to make a quick, small adjustment in an element, but you like to keep an overview of the plan.
Via the three dots at the right of your element, you can click 'Edit'. This will open a side panel of the element where you can check content or make quick changes. Click 'Open details' in the three-dot-menu to see the detail page of the element.
Drag-and-drop functionality
With element types at any given level, we want to continue to guarantee ease-of-use. The drag-and-drop feature allows you to dynamically switch elements to other places in the plan, just by dragging it to the right spot.
For the drag-and-drop to work, click the element somewhere and move it as you like.
