This article explains where you can find the SECAP export and how it helps you in reporting to the EU Covenant of Mayors.

‼️ This article only applies to the cities and municipalities that have to report to the European Covenant of Mayors with the mycovenant.eumayors.eu portal. ‼️

To make it easier for you, we have bundled all the information you can find in Futureproofed for your reporting to the Covenant of Mayors in one excel. 🥳

Where to find the SECAP export in Futureproofed?

You will find it under 'Reports' [1] and then you choose as report type 'Excel - SECAP report' [2]. Next you get options to select emission inventories [3]. Finally, click on 'Generate report' [4].

‼️ ATTENTION: 'actions' in the portal of the EU Covenant of Mayors = 'measures' in Futureproofed.

Emission inventory tab

When you open the excel download, you will be taken to the tab containing the selected emission inventory. This corresponds to the format used in the Covenant of Mayors portal. These figures can be copied manually in case you need to enter an emissions inventory or update the previous one.

For your information: a reference inventory is required when submitting an action plan. In case of full reporting (every 4 years), a monitoring inventory must be submitted. ⚙️ See here again the guidelines for SECAP reporting.

Actions overview tab

In this excel-tab you will find summary tables for the mitigation and adaptation part which can be copied manually in 'My actions' and then 'My actions overview' in the portal of the Covenant of Mayors.💡

Important to keep in mind:

  • Public lighting is counted under 'Other' in this overview

  • Communal fleet is counted under 'Transport' in this overview

Actions details tab

In this tab you find an overview of all the actions you have added in Futureproofed. You need to complete these in 'My Actions' and then in 'My Actions Details' in the portal of the Covenant of Mayors.

As you can see, there are a number of columns, some completed and some not. The columns show which information is needed when reporting to the Covenant of Mayors. All the information you can get from Futureproofed has been filled out, so you have to complete the empty columns yourself.
